Admission Particulars

South Calcutta Girls' College is a government aided heritage institution affiliated to the University of Calcutta. It was established in July 1932 at the initiative of renowned educationists, notably late Peary Mohan Chatterjee, to provide opportunity of higher education to the young women of the vicinity.

 

Direction of the University

Direction of the University of calcutta for admission in any Subject with Honours is as follows

At least 50% marks in aggregate with at least 45% marks in the Subject

OR

At least 55% marks in the Subject opted for Honours Course

Students Wish to take Eco(Hons.) must obtain at least Pass marks in mathematics in the H.S or equivalent Examination

 

Rules & Regulations

Appearing in the college examination is mandatory for every student, failing which she may not be promoted to the higher class or she may be disallowed from appearing in the University Examination.

Medical certificate showing the cause of absence will not be sufficient for promoting any student or for allowing her for the University Examination

The decision of the Teachers' Council in matters of promotion is final.

As per regulation of the University of Calcutta minimum percentage of attendance required by a student is 75% of the total lectures delivered including tutorials and practical classes

1.	Original mark sheet of the last public examination (returnable)
To be attached with the completed forms
1.	One attested photocopy of the mark sheet of the last public examination.
2.	One attested photocopy of the Admit Card (of Madhyamik) or any document testifying date of birth.
3.	One copy of recent stamp size passport photograph.
Documents required during Admission
1	Original mark sheet (Returnable)
2	Original document testifying date of birth.
3	Original Migration Certificate in case of migrating students only (Non-returnable)
